Philosophy of Petroleum Exploration: Nebulous or Clear? Speaker: Dr. Sandip.K.Roy The speaker has served ONGC Ltd for twenty-one years, followed by stints in BG Group (UK), Petra Energia (Brazil), Petronas (Malaysia), and the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. While the philosophy behind hydrocarbon search appears very nebulous at first thought, is it really so? Or are there definite paths towards it within the fuzzy logic, uncertainty, and risk, or vice versa? The speaker examines different aspects of exploration philosophy, namely, the approach, the creative process, the stages, the quality of oil finders, roles and idealized exploration teams, management decisions to prospecting, etc., to bring a perspective.
